Personal Education

Your Future

The answer is in fact quite simple and replicable: Florida Institute for Advanced Dental Education convinced students that it was worthwhile to invest each and every day in making themselves better.

Extraordinary Success!

Florida Institute for Advanced Dental Education was founded in 1980 as an American-style, private, not-for-profit school in Miami.

this is

our mission

Central to the Community Smiles dental clinic operations is our 1+1 year post-doctoral residency program. Accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA), Committee on Dental Accreditation (CODA) in 1992, this Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program has operated continuously since 1984.

In addition to receiving didactic training, residents provide primary care to patients in our clinic daily.

Unique among general dental residencies in the United States, our program is renowned for the breadth and depth of its faculty, and the expansive nature of its specialty instruction and clinical experience. Residents are admitted to the AEGD program through a highly competitive selection process. Prior to seeking this post-doctoral certification, in addition to obtaining their graduate degrees in dental medicine, all residents have at least two years in active dental practice and have undertaken a rigorous orientation program.
